Mayan-inspired, ecologically conscious luxury beachfront with golf and a spa – This eco-friendly resort is on 50 acres in the heart of Riviera Maya, along the world's 2nd largest coral reef. Travel + Leisure included the property on its 2007 "It List," saying the accommodations have "a Maya-goes-Zen aesthetic." Accommodations: The air-conditioned rooms and suites are housed in a low-rise main building and 2-story casita buildings. All have a private balcony or terrace, a king- or queen-size bed or 2 queen-size beds, a coffee/tea maker, an LCD television, an in-room safe, a marble bath, an iron and an ironing board, and a complimentary newspaper. Accommodations have an ocean, lagoon, canal, pool, forest, mangrove, or golf course view. There are turndown, housekeeping, and concierge services. Somecasitas and suites have butler service, an infinity pool on the terrace, and a private stairway to the beach. The presidential suite La Tortuga is on its own island near the main pool area.
